Best Gluten-Free Places to Eat in Boston (Part 2)

Having lived right outside Boston my entire life, you know that as soon as I got diagnosed with celiac 5 years ago I would be trying every gluten-free option available… Which is why there is a part two (and there will likely be more parts!) Make sure to check out @glutenfree_juliag on instagram to see pictures of the food I get at each restaurant!

Burtons

      • A classic bar and grill with an unwavering commitment to being allergy safe! They have a robust gluten-free menu and you could never tell the difference.
      • Location(s): All across MA and beyond
      • Julia’s Faves: General Tso Cauliflower

Verveine

      • A new cafe opened by the same owner as Faccia Faccia, Verveine is 100% gluten-free and the place to bring your friend who doesn’t believe that gluten-free can be good. The bread is unreal and the pastries are unique and delicious! I wish they had a location right next to my house.
      • Location(s): Cambridge
      • Julia’s Faves: Spicy Chili Biscuit, Strawberry Galette

Piattini

    • Casual and delicious Italian food with many gluten-free options. I love the shape of their gluten-free pasta and they even have ravioli!
    • Location(s): Newbury Street
    • Julia’s Faves: Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Fig and Prosciutto Pizza

730 Tavern

      • Another casual pub where most of the menu can be made gluten-free! The servers are so nice and they even do events.
      • Location(s): Mass Ave Cambridge
      • Julia’s Faves: Buffalo Chicken Queso Dip, Grilled Salmon

Silver Dove Tea

    • The most magical dedicated gluten-free afternoon tea experience. My family and I can’t get enough - we try to go each season to get a taste of the different menus!
    • Location(s): Tremont Street Boston
    • Julia’s Faves: White Peach or Oolong Tea

Cobblestones

      • A great breakfast and lunch spot with casual atmosphere and deep knowledge of celiac! My sandwich was made in a separate area with separate knives and I can’t wait to visit again.
      • Location(s): Beacon Hill
      • Julia’s Faves: Muffaletta sandwich

La Famiglia Giorgio's

      • A classic Italian restaurant with portions larger than I’ve ever seen, and some of the best gluten-free pasta I’ve ever had!
      • Location(s): North End
      • Julia’s Faves: Pasta with Matriciana Sauce

Toscano

      • One of my favorite upscale Italian eateries, they do a great job catering to gluten-free. They have gluten-free pasta available and can make many accommodations for other menu items.
      • Location(s): Harvard Square, Charles Street Boston
      • Julia’s Faves: Linguine with Clams

Mothership

      • A unique and fun restaurant with lots of celiac safe options (read: separate fryer). They even have fun cocktails and trivia!
      • Location(s): Alewife Cambridge
      • Julia’s Faves: Taro Chips, glazed zucchini, fried pickles

Legal Sea Foods

      • Gluten-free fried seafood was not something I thought was possible until I realized that everything fried at Legal Sea Foods is gluten-free!
      • Location(s): All across MA and the east coast
      • Julia’s Faves: Anna’s Baked Haddock
